DeMoreo Ford is one of my favorite players on this UK team.  He’s energetic and his outgoing personality is infectious.  Thrust into a role this season as one of the Wildcat leaders, Ford eagerly accepted.  But still, he’s been struggling on the field.

Burke Headed to Louisville

Former Lexington Catholic quarterback Justin Burke is leaving North Carolina State and is enrolling at Louisville.  Burke, a redshirt sophomore, was the Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year after leading Catholic to a state title in 2005.

Revere Voted One of the Best in Midwest League

Former Lexington Catholic outfielder and Kentucky Mr. Baseball, Ben Revere, has been turning heads at the professional level for nearly two years now.  Recently, the Beloit Snappers’ prospect was honored by Baseball America and Midwest League managers for his stellar play this season.

Midnight Deadline

The UK baseball coaches are waiting on midnight.

That’s when one of their prized recruits must decide if he’s going to be a Wildcat or play pro ball.  Robbie Ross, the LCA product, flew to Texas on Wednesday, where he is negotiating a contract with the Rangers.

Simpson Commits to UK

Samual Simpson will be a Wildcat. 

During an afternoon news conference at Henry Clay High School, Simpson spoke of playing in the best football conference in America.  “I want to play for the best fans in the country,” Simpson added.

Henry Clay offensive lineman Sam Simpson will make public his college choice on Tuesday.  The 6-foot-4, 290 lb. center has narrowed his choices to Virginia, Vandy, UK, Tennessee and Alabama.
